ABC Challenge, G is for Gradient and Gold Flakes

Hello everyone! Sorry I'm a little late with this one.  I was pretty excited to do a gradient for G since they are my favorite thing ever ever ever but I also decided to dress it up a little bit more with a gold leaf top coat as well.  For the gradient I used American Apparel Dynasty and Essie Van D'Go, and the top coat is a homemade version I picked up online from someone who made a small batch.

I got the gradient color idea from a picture on Pinterest (isn't that where all inspiration comes from these days?) and I like it because it reminds me of summer....which seems to be soooo far away at this point but eventually I know it will get here.

Obligatory Valentine's Day Nails!

So let's start with in general, I am not a huge Valentine's Day fan but I do like any excuse to do themed nails : )   Plus I'm tutoring in the evening and my students alllllways give me a hard time if my nails aren't painted because they know its one of my hobbies so I wanted to have something ready for them - can't disappoint my audience!

I knew I wanted something simple but fun so I decided to go to my favorite standby, a gradient, and just add a little sparkly heart on an accent finger.  I did the gradient using Bourjois Rose Lounge, Essie Castaway, and Essie Watermelon (top to bottom).  Fun fact, the Bourjois polish was a gift from my mom when she went to India - she has been begging me to show it off but its pretty sheer so it took a while to find a good opportunity for it.  Here it is finally Mom! Thank you : )   I added the heart using Zoya Nidhi instead of a flat red because I thought the added shimmer would be fun and I loved it.

There are some really awesome Valentine's Day nails out there today so make sure you check them out - I kind of wish I had gone with something more intricate just for fun but I like the simplicity of this mani as well.

ABC Challenge - F for The Fifth Element

Post #2 of 2 for the day - F on the ABC Challenge!  As soon as I got this polish I knew I wanted to save it for today.  The Fifth Element by EmilydeMolly is a beautiful polish with a blue-turquoise base and some red, blue, and silver multi sized hex glitters.  There is also some pretty blue/silver micro glitter in the base that really gives it a lot of depth.  This polish is sooo fun and pretty!  I knew I needed it as soon as I saw pictures online on Etsy, and I was so glad Llarowe started carrying it so I could get it in the US!

I used the glitter placing method to apply this because the large red glitter hexes seemed to be a little hesitant to come out.  I didn't really mix the polish that well or try too hard so I'm sure if I would have put a little more effort in I could have coaxed them out as there appear to be a lot in there.

ABC Challenge: E for Exterminate

Hey everyone! So sorry that I have been bogged down with work and interviews lately, I have had these done but just didn't make the time to sit down and post.  I have this one and F to post today so please bear with me!

I was excited for E day because I get to show off one of my all time favorite glitter polishes - NerdLacquer Exterminate.  Now unfortunately NerdLacquer is no longer available, but that doesn't change the way I feel about this polish!  It was one of the most unique glitter polishes I had ever seen when I picked it out almost a year ago, I remember being intrigued by the brown base and brown, gold, and blue glitters.  Its one of the few packed glitter polishes that is really wearable because of the color combinations.

A little unconventional, but thats my favorite part about all of my NerdLacquers!  What do you guys think, would you rock a brown glitter polish?  Although they aren't readily available for sale anymore I have seen a bunch show up on online marketplaces as well as blog sales (the latter has much more reasonable pricing usually...).
